CIBA is pleased to announce a wonderful members’ benefit with the establishment of a RideWithGPS.com club account. This club account will be particularly great for our ride leaders as RideWithGPS.com provides a host of tools to create route maps and cue sheets with great ease, accuracy and clarity.

CIBA club members will be able to view routes and print their own copies of the map and cue sheets prior to the ride events. It’s a pretty slick product that I believe many ride leaders and CIBA riders will like and be pleased to use.

For further information, CIBA members may login to this site, then click the Menu (Hamburger) icon at the right of the blue bar above. Scroll down to Members, then to RideWithGPS.

Read the narrative. Then click on the invitation link found on the page, http://www.cibaride.org/RideWithGPS.

Gray Goat Sports has arranged for a showing of the movie Bikes vs Cars in Indianapolis on January 13. "Bikes vs Cars" depicts a global crisis that we all deep down know we need to talk about: Climate, earth's resources, cities where the entire surface is consumed by the car. An ever-growing, dirty, noisy traffic chaos. The bike is a great tool for change, but the powerful interests who gain from the private car invest billions each year on lobbying and advertising to protect their business. In the film we meet activists and thinkers who are fighting for better cities, who refuse to stop riding despite the increasing number killed in traffic.

The movie is set for 7:30 pm at the AMC Showplace 17 at Southern Plaza on January 13. At least 60 tickets need to be sold by January 6 for the showing to happen. Tickets can be reserved at https://www.tugg.com/events/81867. You can read a Huffington Post interview with the filmmaker or see the NY Times review for additional information. Invite your friends and let’s see what we can do to help improve the relationship between bikes and cars. Forward this info to friends in area city planning circles too and encourage them to come as well. Reserve your tickets today so we can assure this showing will occur!

Many of you may have recently received requests from local/national not-for-profit organizations about #Giving Tuesday.  Giving Tuesday reminds us that even in the busiest of seasons, we can take a moment to spend our money where it makes a difference.

The CIBA Foundation strives to make a difference in bicycling activities in Indiana.  Since 1997, we have awarded over $350,000

in grants throughout the state, supporting bike trails, bicycle police, safety education, and so many more (see listing at cibafoundation.org)

And we just received a $2,500 grant from the Glick Family Foundation to continue our mission “…to provide financial and other resources to partner organizations that support its goal of promoting the benefits of cycling to the community.”

During the month of December, we challenge CIBA members and friends to “match” the Glick Family Foundation grant – let’s raise another $2,500 before the end of 2015!

Donations can be made on-line at the CIBA website (www.cibaride.org) or at the CIBAFOUNDATION website (www.cibafoundation.org).  Or checks can be mailed to the CIBA Foundation Treasurer, 1408 Central Avenue, Noblesville, IN  46060.

We know you love cycling – and we hope you will want to contribute to the CIBA Foundation and make a difference in bicycling in Indiana!

    Enjoy your ride!

Carole and Dolly Craft, President CIBA Foundation

    Carole Terry

    President

    Central Indiana Bicycling Association (CIBA)

Update!!!   $2125 = 85% of the $2500 match was collected as of 12/31/2015.  Thank you to Everyone who gave in December.
