  • Indy Safe Streets and Vision Zero - Please share your thoughts!!

    Calling all bicyclists, pedestrians and anyone concerned about safe streets: There’s still time to weigh in on Indy’s Vision Zero Action Plan.

    The draft action plan includes steps that city departments can take to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries.

    For example, it would direct the city’s Fatal Crash Review Team to complete road safety audits at some of Indy’s most dangerous intersections. 

    It also includes steps to create a citywide Safe Routes to School program, secure software for signal timing improvements and conduct high-visibility law enforcement campaigns.

    The public comment form will be open  through July 31.

    Since 2018, the UN and it's 193 countries passed a resolution to recognize the importance of bicycling - hence an annual world bicycling day!

  • 500 Miles in May Challenge!

    For all of the CIBA + Bike Indianapolis Members!

    Once again as the weather warms up, we are planning a 500 miles/kilometers in May challenge.  The rules are that you ride 500 miles or kilometers in the month of May.  These miles can be either during a CIBA event or wherever you ride during the month. 

    At the end of May just email your list of rides and mileages to Bill Linhart (bill.linhart56@gmail.com) and he will send the instructions for ordering your cycling jersey. 

  • The first combined CIBA+Bike Indianapolis Newsletter available April 1

    As part of the merger process between Central Indiana Bicycle Association (CIBA) and Bike Indianapolis, the first combined newsletter will be available April 1 and sent out to all members.

    Many updates on the new Board, Committees, Rides and general merger issues are available in this edition, along with a survey on the naming of our new organization.

    Our Annual Meeting is set for January 25, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM. We’ll meet at Nine13 Sports, located at 1271 W. 29th Street. This will be a pot-luck dinner, as it has been in the past. Please bring the following items based on the first letter of your surname:

    ·         A-H  veggies/fruits/

    ·         I-P    salads/carbs

    ·         Q-Z  desserts
